These small pearls, the oval traditionally called “rice” pearls, the “potato” shape more rounded, are the ones most frequently used in wedding jewellery, tiaras and other head pieces. They are often threaded with crystals or tiny faceted glass beads. The most sumptuous wedding dresses are embellished with these beads. They have small holes and need to be threaded on fine gauges of silk, jewellery wire, or tigertail (usually 19 strand which is very flexible).
